about

Boys of Bedlam (Traditional)
A song about madness dating back to 1720, Bedlam Boys were the poor folk who were committed to the all boys asylum of St Mary of Bethlehem, Bishopsgate, London. The song references Mad Maudlin which is the nickname of the all girls asylum St Mary Magdalen, Beckenham, Kent. The words are traditional and the tune is by Nic Jones and Dave Moran. This song was brought to the table by Elie, we adapted her piano arrangement for the band as we knew it would lend itself well to TReD's style.
